I was driving home earlier with my dad (I only have my permit) and the roads were snowy. My dad wanted me to know what losing traction feels like, so at a wide, clear corner he told me to accelerate halfway through the turn. I duly obliged, completely flooring the gas. What happened next was one of the most incredible things I've done in my life.
The tail of my dad's A6 began sliding out as expected. I began countersteering, and at the same time began thinking "Hmm. I wonder if I can keep this slide going." And I did. It was one of those moments where you wish someone was filming it. I was able to drift my dad's car for about five seconds through the entire length of the turn, by basically guessing what to do with the steering and pedals. I clearly scared the shit out of my dad, who was holding the support handle in a death grip. I guess he wasn't expecting me to keep the slide going. But I suppose it wasn't bad for a first try.

Now, take a moment and consider that pro drifters initiate the slide before the turn even begins...
...so crazy. I'd love to learn one day, but mid-corner initiation is a helluvalot easier (though still not easy. Props), and that's where my skill level is too...and I've been driving for a fair bit longer than you (or so it would seem).

Thanks :) I hope to get a RWD car so I can drift more when it isn't snowing or raining. I'm gonna keep on practicing.
